Cain-BigfootI just read some big heavyweight news on MMA Torch. According to media in attendance at a Q&A hosted by Dana White today in Ireland, UFC 160 will be getting a double-dose of heavyweight action. White reportedly stated that Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva will get another chance at Cain Velasquez in the main event for Velasquez’s UFC title. The co-main event will be Alistair Overeem vs. Junior Dos Santos.

There’s always something a little “extra” when it comes to heavyweight fights, and these two are very intriguing. The rematch between Bigfoot and Cain might just be a replay of their first encounter, but I’m happy to see both of them not sitting around for the rest of the year.

Overeem and Dos Santos will be a great fight between two of the sport’s most devastating strikers. Both are coming off bad losses—JDS a 5-round beating at the hands of Velasquez; and Overeem is rebounding from an embarrassing KO loss to Silva. Chances are good one of these guys will get knocked out. One thing is all but guaranteed in this one—one of these contenders will be looking at back to back losses.

UFC 160 will be during the Memorial Day holiday weekend and has been said to be tied to the MGM in Las Vegas.
