martinkampmannWelterweight Martin Kampmann wants to get back in the win column, but he doesn’t want a “Gimme.” Kampmann hasn’t fought since his 46 second knockout loss to Johny Hendricks in November, but he will be watching this weekend’s UFC 158 very closely. Now that he’s looking for a fight, he tweeted his preferences for an opponent – Tarec Saffiedine, Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre.

His tweet initially called out Saffiedine—the final Strikeforce welterweight champion—and Nick Diaz “after GSP beats him up.” He left no question who he thinks will win the UFC 158 main event, but later amended his choices to account for a shocking upset: “If Diaz pulls it off I will be happy to fight gsp as well, I would actually prefer that,” was his exact tweet.

Either way, Kampmannn isn’t looking for a bounce back fight just to get back in the win column. Saffiedine, just by beating Nate Marquardt for the SF belt, but himself in rare company. And if Diaz loses this weekend, a fight with Kampmann would be pretty entertaining and relevant. The Hitman’s loss to Hendricks was his first since coming up just short in back-to-back fights with Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez. Both of those fights were highly contested decisions. Kampmann is hoping for a return sometime this summer.
