Nick DiazNick Diaz the fighter has retired a couple times over the years, usually due to frustration. The question now is whether Nick Diaz the promoter will keep plugging away or call it quits after one event. Diaz’s promotion, WAR MMA took place over the weekend and Diaz is noncommittal on whether or not there will be a second event.

The Stockton Bad Boy told Recordnet.com that while he’s pleased with the results of the show, he’ll wait to decide if he’s going to do it again.

“We’re happy; everyone seemed to enjoy it,” he said. “I didn’t call all the shots, but I OK’d things and knew what I wanted. I have no set plans at this time. We’ll get together and lay everything out, and discuss it. Then we’ll go from there.”

According to reports, WAR MMA: Roberts vs. Baesman drew about 3,500 fans at the venue; as well as steaming online. The promotion tested a different type of pay per view that allowed the viewers to determine how much the event was worth to them. Some paid zero, others made donations. It will be interesting to see if numbers are released for the online views.

More interesting is whether we’ll see Nick Diaz continue to promote fights.
