UFC makes “Neat” Offer to Nick Diaz

Posted: July 18, 2013 in Commentary/Opinion, Latest news

bagofweedAs is often the case in MMA (and sports in general), Nick Diaz’s self-imposed retirement might not last long. According to manager Cesar Gracie, the UFC has presented Nick with an offer that they seem to like. I know what you’re thinking and NO, it’s not the “bag of weed” scene from Harold and Kumar. At least I don’t think it is.

Although we don’t know details of the fight or the opponent, Gracie seemed upbeat about it and called it “kind of neat.” I guess the word “neat” is used more in Stockton in 2013 than in the rest of the country. But still, that endorsement says a lot.

Diaz thinks he’s a top draw who deserves a top fighter. Despite back-to-back losses, he’s really only expressed interest in fighting guys who don’t make a lot of sense, rankings-wise, like GSP and Anderson Silva. So whoever the proposed opponent is, it must be a big name and a prominent fight.

Until we hear more details, we can just enjoy the “bag of weed” scene once more.
