UFC on FS1 Fearless Predictions — Shogun’s midriff, Ronda’s headshots & Reem’s drug test

crystal-ballIf you’re looking for regular predictions on every fight, you’ve come to the wrong place. This article is MUCH better than that. I’m giving you a look into my brain. These are the fearless premonitions of a dangerous mind–dangerous in a good way. You’ll look really smart in front of your stupid friends if you start talking about these rock-solid predictions.

  • If Travis Browne is defeated by Alistair Overeem in the co-main event, he will announce his intention to drop to 205 in the next few weeks. He’s been trimming down considerably over the past few fights and has greatly improved his skills, athleticism and mobility as a result.
  • Chael Sonnen will lose his 3rd fight in a row, dropping his overall record to 6-7. Despite not winning a fight in almost 2 years, Dana White will announce that “the Gangster” will leapfrog the rest of the division to face the winner of Cain Velasquez/Junior Dos Santos next. After he loses that one, he will face GSP at welterweight.
  • Alistair Overeem will pass his drug test.*
  • It will take Joe Rogan—and everyone watching at home—about 22 seconds to discover that Shogun looks a little soft around the mid section. I wonder if he trained as hard as he should have???
  • Speaking of title fights, Urijah Faber will defeat Yuri Alcantara to earn his 28th title shot. Dating back to 2008, Faber has lost 5 consecutive fights with a belt on the line. He might be the 3rd best fighter in 2 divisions, but he won’t likely beat the guys in front of him. Maybe he’ll challenge Sonnen next?
  • Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will be shown at cage side about 50 times. This is obviously to try to convince everyone that these two have a rivalry more intense than ANYONE IN THE HISTORY OF TUF!!!! I guess DW wants us to forget about Tito and Chuck, huh?
  • …Rousey will be seen passing out headshots to normal everyday MMA fans who she somehow thinks are Hollywood movie executives. Tate will use her TV time to complain about the whole Kim Winslow/Cat Zingano/getting her face crunched thing for the thousandth time.
  • In three or four years, we might look back on this event and wonder how so many superstars would up on one event—on the undercard. Michael McDonald, Conor McGregor, Uriah Hall and Diego Brandao are all capable of making a major name for themselves in the near future. Of course you’ll have to save this article for the next three years to see if I’m right!
  • Matt Brown will finally earn a chance to enter the upper echelon of the division with a win over Mike Pyle. A 6th win would force the hand of UFC matchmakers and finally let Brown face a guy who isn’t an up-and-coming blue chipper, and aging veteran or just a decent mid level guy. It’s about time. His fans are getting antsy and there are PLENTY of top welterweights to match this guy against.

*Footnote. Really, how could Overeem NOT pass his drug test? He’d have to be a complete imbecile to fail this time.
