SOnnenVIG1To answer Chael Sonnen’s question, yes it was too soon I guess.

UFC’s Sonnen got called to the principal’s office for recent comments he made about Rihanna on Fox Sports Live. Fox Sports had to issue an apology for his comments, which was a joke that went over with a thud for some. Here’s what Sonnen said, in reference to Floyd Mayweather.

“Look, Floyd (Mayweather) needs to keep doing what he’s doing, which is fighting complete tomato cans that we’ve never heard of before. I’ve never seen anybody in the history of America get so rich and so famous off of having complete wimps throwing punch at their faces. I know what you’re saying. You’re saying, ‘Well, it’s happened before, what about Rihanna?’ … Too soon? Was it too soon?”

Poor taste? Probably, but let’s face it; Sonnen’s verbal attacks are a big part of the reason he’s got a job outside the cage. For the record, here’s the apology made by Fox.

“FOX Sports regrets the comments Chael Sonnen made during last night’s edition of FOX Sports Live. They were an inappropriate attempt at humor that Sonnen acknowledges shouldn’t have been made and he apologizes to anyone who may have been offended by his remarks.”

Are you kidding me… Offend me?? Not at all. Listen it is what it is, so reality hurts and if Chael makes a joke about it I don’t mind actually I liked it. If Jay Leno cracks on everyone from Paris Hilton to the Kardashian’s to Barack Obama it’s OK but Chael makes a crack the networks apologize? What so they don’t get sued? If fight fans got offended which I doubt, but if they did they need to switch to golf or fishing as their main sport!!

Sonnen can get a job as a stand-up commedian. Good blend of truth into humor, which is what most professional commedians do anyway. If this was comming from Chris Rock, everyone would just laugh their asses off
