Will Gustafsson get the rematch with Jones and send Teixeira & Cormier to the waiting room?

jonjonesWhat a fight! Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson put on an incredible 5-round show for fans Saturday at UFC 165. The question now is…will there be a rematch? Fans would certainly want to see these two mix it up again following this Fight of the Year candidate.

But will it work out that way? “When you see two guys get busted up like they did tonight, they don’t even want to talk about fighting for a few weeks,” Dana White said following the event. “I would like to do the rematch,” he added, without committing. “It makes sense. I like it.”

Glover Teixeira sat in the crowd to witness the fight first hand. He’s been told he’s next for Jones. And to add more confusion, Dana White made a comment last week that heavyweight Daniel Cormier could “probably” be next with a win over Roy Nelson.

That’s two guys who White suggested would get the next shot at Jones. But then there’s Gustafsson, the guy with the best credentials of all—meaning he dished out as much punishment as her took for 5 full rounds.

So that’s three guys sitting, waiting for Jones. If I had to make a prediction, White will take the easy route—a rematch with Gus. That’s the one that would be the hottest in terms of viewership and hype—and those are hard things for White and company to pass up. But that’s just a guess.
