186_rondarousey_sl4The writing is on the wall and I have a feeling Ronda Rousey’s UFC career could be a short one. The breakout star continues to shift her attention from the cage to Hollywood. “Rowdy” has been offered roles in two more big-budget films this year.

She’s been attached to the new Entourage movie as one of the female leads, as well as The Athena Project. The latter has Rousey penciled in as leader of an elite, all-female squad of Delta Force operators specializing in counter terrorism. The studio feels it has the potential to become a franchise.

Entourage starts filming in March, which is shortly after she is set to defend her title against Sara McMann at UFC 170. Rousey has been tied to these new projects partially due to the great reviews she’s been getting from co-workers on the sets of Expendables 3 and Fast and the Furious 7.

Rousey’s continued success on the big screen has made her the biggest star in the UFC. Although she has been careful not to say this out loud, it’s got to be just a matter of time before her primary focus shifts away from fighting and moves exclusively to acting.

Many people will compare her move to Hollywood to that of Gina Carano, I would compare it more to that of The Rock when he began gaining huge success on the big screen. Incidentally, The Rock was officially the biggest box office draw in all of Hollywood for 2013. I have a feeling any fight could be Ronda’s last.
