Rousey will out-wrestle McMann; AND she can drop world champion boxers with her fists

dodgeballWe all know Ronda Rousey’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan from his stint on TUF…and from his eyebrow. But he’s also got a knack for overstatement. It was just yesterday that he claimed that we’ll see Ronda out-wrestle Sara McMann next weekend.

In case you didn’t do a spit-take with your Mountain Dew Code Red just now, let me remind you that McMann is an Olympic silver medalist, multiple time medalist at the World Championships, and 2-time gold medalist at the Pan American games. But according to Edmund, she’ll be no match for Rousey’s wrestling game.

But that’s not all. Edmund also claims that Rousey’s world class judo and notorious armbars are equaled by her new-found boxing skills too. That’s because Rousey is punishing world boxing champions in practice…again, that’s according to Edmund.

“We get boxing world champions in here, girls, and she drops all of them with body shots, too. So if you’re dropping people with 14-ounce gloves, you guys should be seeing that,” he claimed.

So to review. Ronda is better at judo than anyone in the UFC. She has an unstoppable submission game. She can out-wrestle the most decorated female wrestler in the UFC. AND she can out-box world champion boxers—not in MMA rules, but in pure boxing sessions. Interesting.

I’m pretty sure she also said she could submit Cain Velasquez a while back too. If I was McMann, I’d just tear a hammy walking out to the cage and avoid the massacre that must be coming her way…that’s if you drink the same Kool-Aid as Edmund.
