Jose Aldo & friends sing a fun song about Pettis, call him “faggot”

aldoBloody Elbow has been brushing up on their Portuguese. It seems bantamweight champ Jose Aldo released a video of an impromptu sing-along on the streets with some friends. While I—and most other English-speaking fans—had no freaking clue what they were signing, B.E. had it translated. And the UFC’s code of conduct peeps won’t like it at all.

According to the translation, Aldo and his cronies adapted their song from a song normally sung by Flamengo soccer fans. In Aldo’s version, he refers to Anthony Pettis as a faggot. I still don’t know what he’s saying, but here’s what the translator said about it…

Crudely translated it goes, “the Zombie I have never seen, Ricardo Lamas la la la, Anthony Pettis you faggot, your time will come.”

Oopsie…you’re not supposed to use that word Jose.

The Pettis line is pretty clearly an insult, but I can’t figure out if the lines about Korean Zombie and Ricardo Lamas are supposed to be derogatory or not. Any experts out there? Maybe you can tell me if la la la has a hidden meaning I’m not familiar with.

Props to Bloody Elbow for the legwork.
