Rebney could shit his pants on live TV tonight; probably should have just staged a 2-man LHW tourney

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIn case you’re too hopped up with excitement the Sai Wang vs. Lipeng Zhang fight on UFC’s Fight Pass tomorrow night, let me remind you that Bellator 110 is tonight. One reason to watch is for the facial expressions of Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. He’ll be ruining the armpit area of at least 7 shirts tonight hoping and praying that Christian M’Pumbu and Mikhail Zayats don’t (figuratively) grab Rebney by the waist, (figuratively) pull his pants down, and (figuratively) stick “it” in a little bit.

Being (figuratively) molested by those 2 guys will be Rebney’s punishment for booking Rampage Jackson and Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in opposite brackets in this grueling 4-man light heavyweight tournament.

Seriously, look at everything Bellator did to get a Rampage vs. King Mo fight. First they scrapped the normal 8 man tournament—way too risky, especially considering Rampage’s win over Joey Beltran was his first since 2011; and King Mo continues to shit the bed every time Emanuel Newton’s name is mentioned. So let’s bring in former champ M’Pumbu, a guy whose last victory was against Rich Hale in May of 2011. Let him fight Rampage.

As for Mo, let’s not make it look too easy. Plus Bob Sapp will never make 205. Zayats fits the bill. He’s not terrible by any stretch, but make no mistake…if he beats Mo, the sound you hear will be Rebney weeping like a little 13 year old girl who just got dumped by her soulmate after seven of the best days of her life.

Anyway, I guess Bellator thought a 2-man tournament was little transparent. And I guess staging the semi-finals against journeymen with 3-8 records was also too bold a move. So they settled on M’Pumbu and Zayats. I just have one question…why the fuck didn’t they just add Tito Ortiz with a broken neck and sign CM Punk. There’s the 4 man tourney they really wanted.

Can you imagine Rebney half-heartedly trying to promote a Zayats/M’Pumbu tourney final? It would actually be quite hilarious.
