Cain Velasquez makes acting debut opposite Vince Vaughn

02-Cain-VelasquezHeavyweight champ Cain Velasquez is dipping his tow into the pool of acting. He’ll be featured in the new film, Term Life. The film will star Vince Vaughn. Cain will play Marco, who supposedly works for Victor, played by Jordi Molla.

Other stars include Hallie Steinfeld, Bill Paxton and Jonathan Banks (“Mike” from Breaking Bad). The story is that Vaughn’s character is a criminal being chased by the mafia, so he purchases a life insurance policy he can leave to his daughter before he’s killed. Problem is he has to stay alive for 21 days until the policy kicks in.

Is it just me, or would this story be WAAAAY better if Cain was the lead, and his character was wrongfully hunted by bad guys? Or maybe they could kidnap Cain’s daughter? And when they do, he can get on the phone with the kidnapper and tell them he’s going to search for him, find him…and kill him? But hey, that’s just me.

Either way, Velasquez has what appears to be a small, but significant role in his big screen debut. It’s due to be released in 2015.
