bollingerThis week’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter was both controversial and shocking to say the least. Even talking to Cody Bollinger on a weekly basis, I had no idea what was about to happen. Due to the buzz directly surrounding Cody’s weight cut, we spent the entire interview discussing that topic. Cody was both very candid and very honest during what I had to assume was a difficult subject for him to (more…)

bollingerDespite a very close 3-round fight in the most recent episode of TUF, much of this week’s conversation with Cody centered around single scene that showed a personal moment with Cody breaking down on Father’s Day. He discusses that scene as well as some unflattering comments made by Julianna in her own TUF blog this week. We also laugh about Cody’s “OOPS!” realization that he dropped a spoiler alert (more…)

bollingerThis week’s episode was highlighted by an incredible fight between Jessamyn and Raquel. It’s been receiving resounding reviews from everyone since it aired Wednesday night. While we watched that amazing battle from our living rooms, our guy Cody Bollinger watched it live from the front row. Cody shares his thoughts on that historic fight, as well as the brief exchange between Ronda and Miesha afterwards. Cody also lightens the mood by (more…)

bollingerHere’s our next installment with Cody Bollinger. This week we discussed several topics including the Louie vs. Davey fight, the Sesame Street “Count” prank, and some interesting stuff about cutting and staying on weight. Watching Ronda’s mom take part in this episode also gave us a chance to talk about Cody’s unique situation of being a second generation pro mixed martial artist. Cody’s dad, Frankie was a former King of the Cage champion (more…)

bollingerI gotta say; after just a few episodes TUF 18 is looking as entertaining as any Ultimate Fighter in recent memory. And we’re lucky to have one of the favorites–Cody Bollinger–every week for a little chat. This time Cody talks about the controversy with Jessamyn somehow knowing all the fights Team Tate had planned, as well as the skirmish at Red Rocks between the two coaching staffs. Are you wondering if the grudge between Miesha and (more…)

NeilVIG1Welterweight Neil Magny graduated from the Ultimate Fighter house recently to earn a spot on the UFC roster. It took a unanimous decision victory over cast-mate Jon Manley in February, but now he’s in the big show—hopefully for good. It was just announced that Magny would next be facing Sergio Moraes at UFC 163 in August. We got to sit down with Neil and discuss a few things about Moraes, life after TUF and much more. Let’s see if Neil Magny can go “5 Rounds” (more…)

KZBad news for Anthony Pettis and his fans. We’ve just learned that “Showtime” is injured and will be unable to fight UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 163. In his place, Chan Sung Jung will be removed from his UFC 162 slot opposite Ricardo Lamas, and is now slated to face Aldo for the title.

Pettis was on a very impressive 3 fight winning streak, earning consecutive 1st round KO of the Night honors against (more…)

UFC 140: Weigh InBrian Ebersole has become a favorite of VigilanteMMA readers over the years.  He never disappoints with his interviews, insights..and of course, his rugged good looks. This time we hit Brian with a bunch of questions he doesn’t usually get asked by “normal” reporters–mainly because normal reporters have some sense of professionalism. We aren’t concerned with that here. So let’s get Brian Ebersole’s thoughts on junk food, super heroes and even “ladyboys.” How’s THAT for a teaser?

What’s your favorite cartoon character from your childhood?

Woody Woodpecker! He was an interesting one. Him and Bugs Bunny are (more…)

ian-mccallWe’ve interviewed Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall before and he’s a pretty colorful guy. McCall stands to become the #1 flyweight contender if he can get past Joseph Benavides at UFC 156 this weekend. But in an unexpected twist, he’s got a beef with someone else on the event, and it’s not Benavides. It’s Rashad Evans, who will square off against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. He even called Rashad a dick.

He relayed a story to MMA Mania about his run-in with Rashad a few years ago. The story goes, he and his nephew were walking around the lobby before a WEC event in (more…)
